You received a Sonolex echo case for review.
A trainee (cardiology fellow, sonographer, or ICU/EM resident) used Sonolex to send you an echo case for educational review. The email contained a secure link that opens the case in your browser — no app install, no account, no password.
Is this email legitimate?
Sonolex review emails are only sent from notify@sonolex.com. If the sender address is different, treat it as suspicious.
You can also email support@sonolex.com from your verified institutional address if you want to confirm a specific request was legitimate.
What Sonolex review is — and isn't
Sonolex review is an educational and training feedback tool. A trainee shares a de-identified echo case with you for review; you mark it Reviewed, Return with comment, or Needs more views.
It is not:
- An order, prescription, or clinical decision-support system
- A final clinical interpretation or attestation
- A substitute for an institutional echo report
- A part of any patient's medical record
- An EHR (Epic, Cerner, Oracle Health) integration
Your review is recorded inside Sonolex as feedback to the trainee. Nothing flows back to the patient's care team or any hospital system.
What happens with the data
- The trainee was instructed to remove patient identifiers (name, MRN, DOB, dates) before sending. Sonolex scans for these and blocks send when high-confidence identifiers are detected.
- The email you received contains no patient data — just the trainee's name, institution, and the secure link.
- The case itself loads only after you tap "Open secure case" in your browser. The link is tokenized, expires in 48–72 hours, and is multi-use within that window.
- Your review (and any comment you add) is recorded in an append-only audit log. Each event is cryptographically signed so the trainee can prove who reviewed what and when.
What you do — and don't have to do
To review: tap the link in the email, tap "Open secure case", read the findings, tap one of three buttons. Takes about a minute.
You don't have to:
- Install an app
- Create an account or sign up
- Enter a password or verification code
- Give us your name, NPI, or institution (you can, optionally, after your first review)
- Take any liability for the trainee's clinical care — your role is educational
